Dovetails by Design is the cabinet maker and designer Amanda Morrice. She trained with John Lloyd at his workshop in Sussex, where she gained a wealth of experience in using traditional furniture-making techniques.
In a male dominated profession, Amanda offers a refreshingly different approach. Originally trained as a Nurse, she has worked within the intensive care environment for a number of years and still likes to keep her hand in occasionally. Amanda is able to use her many years experience of working closely with people to bring a personalized, individual service that will provide you with a truly unique piece of furniture.
Designing is a collaborative process but any individual client's involvement is dependant both on their needs and their interest in being involved. However involved you choose to be, you can rest assured that your furniture will be of superior design and craftsmanship.
All furniture is made in solid hard woods such as oak, ash, maple, walnut and cherry to name but a few. Traditional veneering techniques are also used and can offer some beautiful designs and finishes not possible with solid wood alone.
